“I can’t wait for this show!”, enthused Pipe Major Ian K MacDonald, head of the grade one band, “we have incredible new talent in the band, we’ve got reliable experienced talent in the band, and we have a rocking new medley to lay out at the el Mo! The accoustics at the club are great and if this year’s show is even half as fun as last year’s, I’ll be happy beyond words”.

The assessment panel provided some anonymous comment in their online summary including: “Something a bit different, lots of fun and a great vehicle for getting ToPo’s music out there, with no scoresheets involved.” “Raw and off the floor was a great way to describe this CD.” “Anyone who ignores this record in some sort of protest is simply missing out.”

Raw can be downloaded now from iTunes.

“It’s a real honour to have our el-Mo project named Recording of the Year by pipes|drums,” said Pipe Major Ian K MacDonald, “The show may’ve only been one evening but the end result represents hundreds of hours of hard work. I’m really pleased for the band. Congratulations to all!”

Ian advises that this is an official heads-up that more of that hard work can be expected in the New Year.

A Happy, Healthy and Prosperous New Year to all from the Toronto Police Pipe Band!

Welcome to the Toronto Police Pipe Band’s brand new website! We’ve packed the
site with a lot of information including contact information, a calendar of
events, photos, band history, member information and as much multi-media stuff
as we can find! The Toronto Police Pipe Band team has over a millennium of
piping and drumming experience – that’s a jaw-dropping 1000 years of practicing
musicianship! Almost unbelievable!

Here at this blog spot we’ll be tapping in to some of that massive experience
and look to members of the Toronto Police Pipe Bands (that’s means both our
grades 1 and 3 teams) to provide regular blog comment, tips, insight, history and musical opinion. I’ve got a pretty fair idea of the depth of our member’s experience so I feel safe in guaranteeing that this blog spot will never be boring! Check in often, we’re always glad to have you drop in.

Before I sign off, thanks to fine Breton piper and band friend (and master developer), Yoann Le Goff & the whole “A Eneb Team“, for their fine work in moving our web site forward.
Merci beaucoup, Yoann. Well done!

Sincerely,

Ian K
