Ottawa Police Memorial Sept 2007

1007Ottawa_088r.jpg The last Sunday in September marks the annual national Peace Officer and Police Memorial held at Parliament Hill in Ottawa. Although chillier than it has been, the weather held up nicely for a touching and well-orchestrated ceremony with over 200 pipers and drummers, brass band, mounted police, motorcycle detachments, and several hundred police officers and veterans from Canada and abroad in attendance. As always, the pipe band is proud to represent the Toronto Police Service.

Loon Mountain and Back Home

1007LoonMt-cropped.jpg 1007LoonMt2-cropped.jpg The Grade I recently returned from a successful show at the Highland Games at Loon Mountain, New Hampshire (Sept 21-23). It was a busy schedule on Saturday and Sunday, with a special performance at the Papermill Theatre on Saturday evening. Meanwhile, we had to be in two places at once! The other half of the band stayed in back in Toronto, and participated in the 125th Annual Police games, run by the Toronto Police Amateur Athletic Association. Busy weekend!
