The grade one Toronto Police Pipe Band will be presenting a May 15, 2010 concert at Toronto’s iconic El Mocambo, 464 Spadina Avenue, Toronto. The Saturday night concert is slated to begin at 8:00 pm at what is one of Toronto’s most famous club concert venues. The historic “El Mo”, as its known in Toronto, first opened as a music venue in 1850 while serving a dual purpose as a haven for escaped slaves from the U.S.
Elvis Costello’s “Live at the El Mocambo” and the Rolling Stones’ “Love You Live” records are two of the most famous albums to be recorded off the floor of the “El Mo”. The Toronto Police Pipe Band will be recording their current material for release as a “live” record. Audience capacity at the El Mocambo is limited. Tickets are $20.

Toronto Police Pipe Band’s Grade 3 team cranked it up in Lindsay, Ontario, and showed off great form. The grade 3 band supported the newest addition to the Pipers’ & Pipe Band Society of Ontario’s Highland Games circuit: the Lindsay Games. The June 27th event saw the band perform their medley, an all new creation designed for the 2009 competition season. (more…)

The band has planned a self-funded trip to the Lorient Interceltic Festival in Brittany, France (July 31st – August 8th) and have scheduled a local sneak preview of their Lorient concert. (more…)
On Saturday, May 23, 2009, the Grade 3 Toronto Police Pipe Band traveled to Kingston Ontario to participate in the Fifth Annual “Ontario Power Generation” Celtfest. Scott Bell and members of Kingston’s own Rob Roy Pipe Band organized the event, which was held in the Rideau Acres Campground. (more…)
